Welcome to Grainlify
Grainlify is where open-source projects list work and people do it. You sign in with your GitHub account, find an issue on a project that wants help, and apply for it. When a maintainer assigns it to you, you open a pull request on GitHub as usual. Once it's merged, it counts on your Grainlify profile and on the leaderboard. Some work is also paid.

Who does what
- Contributors find issues, apply for them, and do the work in pull requests on GitHub.
- Maintainers add their repositories by installing the Grainlify GitHub App. They choose who works on each issue and review the pull requests.
- Grainlify runs the programmes that pay for work, and publishes the rules each one follows.
Everyone signs in with GitHub, and your contributions are read from GitHub, so there's nothing to report by hand.
How work gets paid
There are three ways, each with its own rules.
| Programme | Who funds it | How it pays |
|---|---|---|
| Bounties | Grainlify | USDC on Solana mainnet, to the wallet you link. No bounty has been paid yet. |
| GrainHack | The event's sponsors | USDC from the event's pool, shared by contributors whose work is accepted. The one event so far ran on the Base Sepolia testnet; its two contributors were paid 4 USDC each there on 19 September 2026. |
| Founding Contributor Pool | Grainlify | A fixed USDC pool, shared by early contributors who qualify |
A person approves every bounty payout before it's sent. Nothing about a payout is decided by how many followers or stars you have.
Each programme's page in the app says what state it's in. The Bounties page, for example, says at the top whether bounties are paying on mainnet yet.
Ranks and the leaderboard
Your rank comes from your pull requests merged in the last 90 days on projects listed on Grainlify. It's a public record of your work, not money, and it's the same for everyone: there's no way to buy or boost it.
Where to start
- Create your account. It takes one click if you're already signed in to GitHub.
- If you want to take bounties, link your Solana wallet. You only do this once.
