Payout readiness
The payout readiness card tells you whether you still need to do anything before a payout can reach you. It matters because a payout can be published at any time, and one published before you've registered a payout address leaves you out.
Where to find it
Open the menu under your picture, top right, choose Settings, then Payout Preferences. The card sits above your payout address.
It appears only when there's something to say: you hold a position in the Founding Contributor Pool, or you were left out of a payout that has been published. If neither is true, there's no card and nothing to do.
What each state means
| The card says | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Register a payout address | You hold a pool position, so a payout will be owed to you, but you have no payout address yet. | Register your payout address now. |
| You're set up for payouts | Your payout address is registered. Nothing is owed to you yet. | Nothing. Anything published later appears on this tab. |
| You were left out of a payout that has already been published | A payout was published without a share for you. | Contact us, and register an address if you still don't have one. |
| No card | You hold no pool position and haven't been left out of anything. | Nothing. |
Register a payout address

There's no date on this, and that's deliberate: nobody knows exactly when the next payout will be published. Registering takes about a minute and costs nothing, and once it's done you can't miss a payout for lack of an address.
You're set up for payouts

This is the state you want. You don't need to check back: when something is published for you, it appears on the Payout Preferences tab.
You were left out of a published payout

The card gives the reason. Either the payout was published before you had a verified payout address, or it was published without a GitHub account linked to you. A published payout can't be edited, so this one can't be corrected in place.
It isn't automatically recoverable, but it isn't automatically lost either. Contact us and ask, rather than assuming the money is gone.
If the card says Register a payout address below so this cannot happen again, do that too. If your address is already registered, the card says future payouts will include you.
If the card can't load
While it checks, the card says Checking whether you need to do anything… If the check fails, it says Couldn't check your payout status. A failed check doesn't mean there's nothing to do. Reload the page, and contact us if it keeps failing.
GrainHack payouts
This card is about your Aptos payout address and the Founding Contributor Pool. It doesn't check GrainHack. GrainHack pays to the separate Base payout address card on the same tab, and a GrainHack share is locked to the Base address you had when the payout was prepared. If you take part in GrainHack, register a Base payout address. See How payouts work.
