Referrals
Share your referral link to bring people to Grainlify. When someone joins through it and verifies their identity, your referral completes and counts toward your shares in the Founding Contributor Pool.
Find your link

Open the Referrals tab. Open the menu under your picture, top right, choose Settings, then Referrals.

Copy your link. The tab shows Your referral code and Your referral link, each with a copy button. Share the link wherever you like.
When a referral counts
A referral is recorded when someone opens your link and then creates a new Grainlify account.
- A click counts for 30 days. If they sign up more than 30 days after clicking, or sign up without using your link, the referral doesn't count.
- It must be a new account. Someone who already has a Grainlify account and signs in through your link isn't referred.
- You can't refer yourself.
The referral then shows as Pending. It becomes Completed when the person verifies their identity, and you get a notification, Someone you referred is verified.
Verification is the only thing that completes a referral. There's no need for a merged pull request, a minimum number of contributions, or a deadline for them to verify. A completed referral with no merged work yet is normal.
What a referral earns

The cap. It limits the total shares you can earn from referrals that only verify. It's a ceiling on your total, not a filter on each referral, so the referral that crosses it still earns the part that fits. After that, new verifications earn you nothing, but merged work from people you referred still does, without limit.
The number of shares for each, and the cap, are settings. The live values are in My GrainHack → Rules, under Founding pool.
Referral shares are recorded whether or not you're eligible, but only eligible members receive anything when the pool is shared out. That needs an approved social follow, a verified identity, and a registered payout address. Without them, your referral shares pay nothing.
A share isn't a fixed amount of money: its value isn't known until the pool is shared out. See Founding Contributor Pool for the arithmetic.
Track your referrals
The Referrals tab counts Total Referred, Pending and Completed. It doesn't show shares or an amount, because a share's value is only known when the pool is divided.
